If a rookie player misses games due to a minor upper body injury, it leads to questions about his being fragile.
Sens need to be far more forthcoming in handling the release of information on an injury to a prized rookie.

The down low cycle was impressive the other night. Combined with the net aggressiveness and a strong forecheck,it is a winning combination and very entertaining. . Somehow though they have to get white and brown playing regularly and truely evaluate them.
Ive just found the tkachuk family interview on spittin chicklets, pretty cool interview. |

well the rookies can look at goofy coaching decisions and stupid mistakes made by veterans that shouldn't be in the line-up
See what Paquette did there? Don't do that.
See how many times Coburn lost his man? Don't do that.
See how Colin White analyzes the game from the taxi squad?
This is how we reward you for not instantly scoring 30 goals again on a garbage rebuilding team with new linemates nightly. LEARN. |

no they don't......do you genuinely think the team cares about media or fan speculation on a player being soft? |

Look at the way the Leafs handled the Robertson injury. They provided solid info, came close to showing the MRI results on line. Sens have not indicated what the nature of the injury other than it is day to day. Perhaps it is just a toothache.

sometimes it's fun
in this case though, it's simply me saying that the team probably doesn't care what the perception is by fans or media on whether a player is "fragile".....which is 100% accurate.
most teams, in every sport, never disclose the details on an injury.....and why would they? |

Agreed. Those practice lines are pretty close to what I've been advocating for (i.e. Galchenyuk getting 2nd line/PP time, White playing ahead of Anisimov)... but what on Earth is Paquette doing in the lineup for a 4th straight game? I realize that Smith is preaching a culture of work ethic, but at some point it has to be matched with some concept of accountability and outcome... even if you're out there working hard in practice.
In the interest of actually developing a winning team, I'd also suggest that it's high time to start letting the more prominent young players take on more of those late-3rd period shifts... especially if the veterans aren't exactly getting the job done. I'm pretty sure Chabot, Tkachuk, White, and Batherson would take away a whole lot more from actually playing in those situations and learning from whatever mistakes they might make, as opposed to watching a group of worker bee veterans make their own mistakes and lose the game regardless. Plus, they might actually be better at finding ways to clear the puck out of the offensive zone... or hitting the empty net to put the game away... or having the skating pace and game awareness to not wind up flat-footed and out of position in 3-on-3 OT. |

agreed........he has no business in teh lineup.
the cobourn over wolanin i don't necessarily agree with, but can understand......but having Paquette remain in the lineup makes zero sense.
he provides exactly NO VALUE to this team in any facet of the game. he gets caved in every time he's on the ice, and does little else but take dumb penalties.
he's not an NHL calibre player and yet somehow seems (frank)ing welded into the lineup no matter what he does wrong |

I still think we should've signed him and given him the captaincy. |

I still think we should've signed him and given him the captaincy. - Panzer_IVA The first 3-4 years he would've been solid but would've affected the Sens rebuild, not in a good way. He is a great guy to have around but do they get Sanderson? He could've lead to a few wins and Sens end up where Anaheim or Buffalo are and get a guy like Jack Quinn |

He obviously wanted out , he wanted a chance for a cup and knew he wasn’t gonna get that staying here 🤦♂️ |

Problem: that option wasn't really on the table. Stone was quite open about the fact that he didn't want to stay during a rebuild.

I think so too, . The reason it went down to the wire ,both sides were trying to work it out...according to Stone. Alas they were not willing to give him what he wanted ( or close i presume) so it left a bitter taste in his mouth at the time. Too bad but he still has an Ottawa connection Tkachuk is renting his house from him. |

The rebuild factor is one reason but I believe that Melnyck could not or would not pay the usual bonuses that are attached to these types of contracts. |

Dadinov is in the same situation as Chabot, White and Tkachuk (much better than 40-45 points). He will underachieve in Smith's program.
